Dear PO Members,

Please read through these announcements:
New Front Desk Staff
Please join me in welcoming Malin Noreen as our new front desk staff. Malin has worked as an assistant to me at the Health Center and as a nurses aide during retreats for some time. She is taking classes at Washtenaw Community College and is a member of the Michigan Ballroom Dance Team with Lydia.
Brittany has taken a full time position closer to home. She will continue to work as a nurses aide during retreats at the Health Center.
Fasting Weekend
The Fasting Weekend was also full with 18 participants! I felt truly blessed to have such a wonderful group of people here. Since it went so well, I have decided to schedule another one in the Fall, September 23-25. PO members receive a $50 discount (member prices are $100 for the program and $200 for the program and overnight stay, regularly $150 and $250). Details can be found on our website.
Art Classes
The next art class is Basic Watercolor Painting, June 11, 18, 25 (Saturdays) from 10:30-12. Normally $50 for the series, PO members pay the supply fee only ($24). Details, registration, and future classes are online.
Yard Sale
I am entertaining the idea of having a yard sale at the Health Center July 9 &10. Is there anyone who would like to help with this? Are there any kids that would like to have a lemonade stand? Are there people who have things they would like to donate to the yard sale, or would like to supply cookies? Let me know if you would be willing to help or have more ideas for this project so I can start to plan it more concretely.
Attention Volunteers:
Our next retreat begins May 9 and we are full with 10 participants. As usual there is much to be done before then, so please let me know if you are able to help with preparations either this week or next week. We need help vacuuming, cleaning, moving beds and furniture from one room to another, making beds, stuffing packets, dusting, doing laundry and other similar tasks. I also have a job for someone who can do very basic programming or is generally good with computers.
I have created an online database with updated volunteer hour and due date information, with an online form to submit your hours. The database is password protected and the list currently shows members by last name only. If you do not want your last name listed, please let me know asap and I will assign you an anonymous number.
That's all for now!

Dear PO Members,
We have several events coming up that I wanted to share with you.
Our fasting weekend begins in less than 2 weeks, April 1-3, starting Friday evening at 7:30 and ending Sunday at 6pm. We have met our minimum but still have plenty of room for more if you would like to join us. Participants are free to come and go as they like. We also have the option to stay overnight at the health center. See detailed information on our website or on the attached program.
Art classes have been scheduled for the year! The next one will be a watercolor painting class (plants) April 20, 27, May 4. Following that will be clay modeling, form drawing, and veil painting classes. Classes consist of 3 sessions and are only $24 for Patient Organization members, and $50 for non-members. It is now possible to register for classes online.
Our next health retreat is May 9-21 and and it is filling quickly. As usual, we can use help in the kitchen during the retreat, getting the house ready before the retreat, and help finishing laundry and putting things away after the retreat.
A warm welcome to our new members: John Walters, Pam Maturo, Brittany Cullen and Michael Lee Fouts.
That's all!
